Actions have been taken to receive appeals until 27th of February 2023 relating to the interviews for enrollments to National Colleges of Education upon the results of G.C.E. Advanced Level in the years 2019 and 2020.

– The Minister of Education Susil Premajayajtha

– The language laboratory of Sri Lanka – Korea National Vocational Training Institute is opened

The present economic crisis was generated because of taking loans continuously to fill the huge budget deficit throughout the long period of time in the past and it did not contribute to the productive economy, said The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayajtha and he further explained that a productive economy is not just stepping into fields with hoes and scythes and should not be taken so lightly but it must be integrated with technology as a production process and find the solutions. The minister stated these ideas when he participated in the occasion of opening the language laboratory of Sri Lanka – Korea National Vocational Training Institute. In line with this event new students were registered to learn the Japanese language and the opening the foreign employment promotion and resource center of the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority also happened with the leadership of the minister. The elder beneficial course targeting the foreign employment seekers to provide skills for them was also started in this occasion.

Further expressing his views at this occasion, the minister Susil Premajayantha said that the entire education system must be changed and there must be a new educational transformative process integrating the three sections, general education, vocational education and higher education. For this purpose, the technical solutions must be found for this challenge while coordinating with the institutions like Vocational Training Authority but it is not appropriate to take popular political decisions, the minister said.

New technology must not be neglected while satisfying with the available labour force and the technology must be used smartly and we must achieve the global sustainable development goals by 2030, the minister said. There, we can take the example of Japan where the entire country was taken to the lead within a decade by developing the Agriculture integrating information technology and the artificial intelligence together in an era of communication where the knowledge become double so soon, the minister said.

Actions have been taken to receive appeals until 27th of February 2023 relating to the interviews for enrollments to National Colleges of Education upon the results of G.C.E. Advanced Level in the years 2019 and 2020.
