The Minister of Education and the Secretary of Education met and had a discussion with the leaders of trade unions today (24.02.2023) at the Ministry of Education regarding the incident of taking into police custody two trade union representatives of the teacher transfers board who had met on the fourth floor during the disturbing situation that had happened along with the entering the students of Buddhist and Pali University into the Ministry of Education on 23.02.2023. Upon a request made by the trade unions at this occasion, it was decided to do an immediate investigation at the ministry level about the incident happened on the fourth floor of the ministry premises and send a report tom the internal defense secretary and take the necessary steps in the future.
Accordingly, the actions are taken to do an investigation at the ministry level by the first of March.
