Additional One Week Vacation for All Schools

The Ministry of Education has drawn its keen attention about the current spread of Covid 19 and it has been observed that the parents, children, teachers and also the principals are feeling with some fear and doubt based on the present situation and some false information published in the social media.

It is the responsibility of the ministry of education to provide a conducive environment for learning  because all people should work with a free and clear mindset when the school education activities are implemented based on the security of the children.

Accordingly, in consideration with the guidelines of the health and defense sources, it was decided to grant a vacation for one week from Monday the 13th till Friday the 17th of July for all schools and Pirivenas in the island to observe the would be unhealthy situations within the school system.

The Ministry of Education expects that all private schools, international schools and private tuition classes will also follow this decision.

But it is the responsibility of the principals to open the schools used as postal polling centers and continue properly the duties of postal voting activities during the scheduled days.
