The exhibition ‘Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023’ that realizes the dreams of employment seekers will be held on 12, 13 and 14 of May 2023 at the Sirimavo Bandaranayake memorial exhibition center of the Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo and its inaugural session will be started at 9.00 am tomorrow with the patronage of Hon. President Ranil Wickremasinghe and The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha.
This exhibition will be opened for the public from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm and the entrance is totally free.
This is a national level conference and exhibition and it is expected to bring national and international partisans related to competencies and skills onto a one and same stage. This has been organized for the first time in Sri Lanka according to a concept of The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha.
The emerging technologies in technical fields related to the sectional skills committees such as Construction Industrial Skills Council (CISC), Information and Communication Technology Industrial Skills Council (ICTISC), Manufacturing and Engineering Sectional Skills Council (MESSCO) Tourist Industry Skills Council (TISC) and Agriculture Sectional Skills Council (ASSC) are basically presented in the “Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023”. This exhibition will be an ideal ground for to sensitize the people about currently available technical training programs of these industries, to exchange the data about job vacancies and to direct the job seekers to apply for these jobs. Another objective of this exhibition is to sensitize the skills and labor requirements of the private sector.
A series of programs of special vocational directing to sensitize the people about current trends in those five fields and the vocational opportunities available in those fields are also organized along with this exhibition. This would be an important opportunity to the students as well as for employment seekers to meet the experts and employers and to gather knowledge about various job opportunities in relevant sections. It is expected to improve the image of relevant fields and to provide the counselling services about skills development and using technology ans also to exchange the data about the job market through this exhibition.
