A meeting was held on 05.11.2021 at The Ministry of Higher Education, Ward Place, Colombo between the Federation of University Teachers Association (FUTA) and the Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardana.
The Federation of University Teachers Association submitted a request about establishing a separate service for university teachers and other several matters such as education reforms, amendments of some Acts related to the higher education, monitoring of private higher education institutes and issuing the advanced level results soon were discussed at this occasion.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Education Professor Kapila Perera, the chairperson of the University Grants Commission Professor Sampath Amarathunga, a group of representatives of the Federation of University Teachers Association including its chairperson Professor S. Banneheka attended this meeting.
