Peiris.
The issuing of results of 622,000 students who sat for the 2020 G.C.E. ordinary level exam has been delayed because the practical tests of the aesthetic subjects were not been able to hold within the scheduled time. Therefore, it has been planned to conduct the practical tests of 169,000 students who sat for the aesthetic subjects from Saturday, 28th August till Wednesday, 08th of September this year and to issue the results as soon as possible. The arrangements have been made for those children to start pre-training activities in the schools and the actions will be taken to call these children to schools for one month’s time starting from Monday, 26th of July strictly according to the health recommendations. The principals have already called the relevant subject teachers and planned the necessary arrangements for training. The written approval from the health services general have been obtained for this purpose.
Accordingly, all the principals have been informed to draw special attention to do these training activities keeping the social distance according to the health recommendations.
The actions will also be taken to postpone the date for receiving applications for admissions to grade one in 2022 till Saturday 07th of August although the deadline has already been declared as 31st of July considering the fairness towards the applicants.
