The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris said that it cannot be justified in any way to revenge from children by sabotaging the education of the innocent children in the country rather than finding solutions to the current problems affecting the teachers.
The minister stated this addressing the media after participating in the program of providing a smart classroom and a computer lab to Angulugaha Maha Vidyalaya, Galle with the allocations of private institutions on 14.07.2021.
The decision of the government is to open the schools as soon as possible after vaccination according to the health recommendations. In the meantime, 2096 resource centers have been opened as a solution to the current problem of access to distance / online education activities throughout the country. These resource centers are selected in collaboration with the provincial directors of education and the political authority and the necessary facilities including tab and laptop computers have been sent to those centers.
