Our government has decided to stop functioning of all schools, pre-schools and Pirivenas in the island till next Friday 30.04.2021. And also to take a decision to reopen them next week starting from Monday 03.05.2021 after having discussions this weekend with the health sectors, provincial directors of education and the principals, said The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris. The minister stated this while addressing the media in Colombo on 27.04.2021. Further expressing the ideas at this occasion the minister said, We would like to inform the parents that we tale decisions about the functioning of the schools giving more importance to the health of the children. But I further remind to implement the health guidelines properly, he said.
