The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris
The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris said that the arrangements have been made to hold the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination of this year from 4th to 30th of October which had been scheduled to be held in August 2021. The minister stated this while addressing the media on 09.04.2021 at the ministry of education, Battaramulla.
Further expressing the ideas the minister said,
It has been planned to hold the grade 05 scholarship examination on Sunday the 03of October and the G.C.E. Ordinary Level exam of 2021 to be started in the last
week of January 2022.
It was difficult to complete the school syllabuses fully because of the spreading of covid. Normally a school functions 200 days a year. But in this year it was only 150 days. In the western province it has reduced to 130 days. It was impossible to overcome this problem through the online method because the internet facilities are not available in all regions equally. Therefore the decisions were taken carefully after having discussions, the minister said.
The media secretary of the ministry of education Mr. Buddhika Wikramadara also joined in this occasion.
