The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha says that the government has initiated a new transformative educational process going beyond a mere reform in order to create an excellent education system complete with balanced skills upgrading the pillar of skills in comparison to the present achievement level of other two skills knowledge and attitudes out of the main pillars of education in this country knowledge, attitudes and skills which have built the foundation of the free education concept. Within that process, his expectation is to send all teachers to meet the students as education degree holders and the university of education which will be established in the future amalgamating all Colleges of Education started when the present President Ranil Wickramasinghe was the Minister of Education, said the minister at this occasion.
The minister stated this information at Nugawela Central College, Kandy while participating in the inauguration of establishing market capital societies of hundred schools in collaboration with several state financial institutions. While further expressing his ideas at this occasion Mr. Susil Premajayantha said that in order to catch up with the countries that have been surpassed us, a great effort is being made to combine the theoretical and academic knowledge received by the students in the classrooms with the practical application of them using the new educational methodologies like STEAM education. The state banking system including other financial institutions are incorporated to provide specially the practical knowledge of economy and financial activities to the children. He also said that the main objective of this educational transformative process is to upgrade the education system of this country that is far behind about 15 years, up to the international standard and these new capital societies are directed to a rapid economic roadway mixing with Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
