The Department of Examinations has called for applications for the competitive examination to recruit graduate teachers to national and provincial schools in the island. The graduates below the age of 40 serving in any position in government service can apply for this examination. This step was taken to fill immediately the large number of vacancies currently available for G.C.E. Advanced Level classes. After these recruitments the Provincial Councils will take measures to appoint the graduates for remaining vacancies.
