Training sessions are conducted by the university system with an inter-provincial coordination for 24 main subjects targeting the students siting for the Advanced Level Examination this time and this program is implemented targeting the students who could not pursue their learning activities properly because of the corona situation prevailed during the last two years and the present critical environment, says The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha. Accordingly, the teachers will be able prepare students for the exam through the additional teachings with questions and answers in a group method in the classrooms from the beginning of September under a basic common background.
It has been planned to conduct the Advanced Level Examination from 28th of November until 23rd of December after holding the delayed Grade 5 scholarship examination on 27th of November. Accordingly, the schools will be conducted from next Monday till the end of November continuously without any break for leave and the missed lessons will be covered.
The Minister further said that the surveys have already been conducted through the scientific methods to identify the achievement levels of the students who come to grade 3 without the primary education in grades 1 and 2 and depending on those reports the future educational activities of those children will be planned. The minister revealed these matters after participating in the occasion of awarding the new appointment letters relating to the Grade III of Sri Lanka Principals Service to 155 officers who obtained equal marks at the limited competitive exam 2018/ 2019 of Sri Lanka Principals Service.
Expressing the ideas about the school transportation the minister said at this occasion that it is expected to start by next Monday another bus service named “School Service” engaging the private buses for transporting school children in addition to “Sisuseriya”.
The officers of the ministry including the Secretary of Education Mr. N.M. Ranasingha had attended in this occasion.
