Providing relief to the teachers due to current transportation difficulties

Considering the requests of the teachers, arrangements have been made to give temporary service placements to easy schools under the following conditions.

These placements will be effective only till 31.12.2022 and all these placements must be activated only upon the written agreement of the principals of the two schools without occurring any obstacle to the teaching and learning process of the school and in this event the following conditions must be followed.

1. The authority will be given to the relevant Provincial Director of Education for the placements of teachers among national schools and between national school and a provincial school within the same province.
2. It is proposed to do the placements of teachers in provincial schools between two provinces upon the approval of the secretary of the relevant Provincial Government Service Commission.
3. Placements to national schools between provinces will be done by the Director of Education (teacher transfers) of the Ministry of Education.
4. There is no need of providing a successor if the requesting teacher is excess in that school.
5. If the requesting teacher is not excess in the school, the placement must be done after providing an appropriate successor.
6. The placements also must be considered on the same grounds when they are done just as the amiable transfers done with the mutual consent of the principals.
7. The placements done on the medical recommendations and on pregnancy must be done after verifying the relevant medical certificates. (according to the clause 3.4 of the circular 2007/20)
8. The copies of the placement letters regarding the national schools done by the Provincial Director of Education must be directed to the Director of Education (teacher transfers) of the Ministry of Education.

All the Secretaries of Provincial Government Service Commissions, all Provincial Secretaries of Education, all Provincial Directors of Education, all Zonal Directors of Education and all National School Principals have been made aware of this matter.   

This process is activated for providing some relief to the teachers due to the transport difficulties prevailing in the country and to give a better education to the children and it is also informed that these placements are not a privilege to obtain a transfer to the relevant school.
