The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardana stated on 15.11.2021 in the parliament that all grades that are not started so far in government schools can be started from next week.
Accordingly, it was decided at a discussion held with the ministry officials including the Secretary of the ministry of education Professor Kapila Perera on 16.11.2021 at Isurupaya the ministry of education, Battaramulla to start the grades 6, 7, 8. and 9 of the government and the government approved private schools according to the health instructions from 22nd Monday, November 2021.
The steps were taken to restart the educational activities under four stages in the schools where they were stopped under the covid 19 situation. Under the first stage the primary grades in the schools with less than 200 students, under the second stage primary grades in all schools and under the third stage ordinary level and advanced level grades in all schools were started. Under the fourth stage the grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 in all schools will be opened from next Monday.
According to that, the educational activities in all government and government approved private schools will be started from 22nd Monday, November 2021.
