The FM Vision channel started today is a great leap forward taken for the future of the education of this country and it is requested from the children as well as from the parents to take maximum advantage of it, said The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris.
This project started today will be a decisive factor influencing our entire education system. Although the broadcasting of educational programs through the radio was first started in 1931, today a fulltime channel dedicated solely for educational activities is started in this country.
According to the today’s priorities in the country this is a very timely program. Under the present covid 19 situation and other various issues this radio channel is extremely important for the children. This has been properly organized in a methodical way. The content has been designed including 65% of it directly connecting to the subjects and 35 % of it is extra-curricular activities beneficial for the learning of children.
FM Vision channel is a great leap forward for the future of education in this country. The benefits of it will be available within a broad spectrum for our students. I extend my thanks to all who helped to start this work.
