Several ideas about the ways of developing a human resource capable of establishing a quality development in the field of education in this country was discussed at the sub-committee meeting of national coordinating social infrastructure facilities.

This sub-committee meeting related to national coordinating social infrastructure facilities of the presidential task force for the ‘to the village again with work’ economic regeneration and the eradication of poverty   was held today (03) at the ministry of education with the coordination of the state ministry of Dhamma schools, Pirivenas and the education of priests and the ministry of education.   

A number of representatives including The Minister of Labour Nimal Siripala De Silva, The Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella, The Minister of Transport Gamini Lokuge, The State Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha, The State Minister of Education Dr. Seetha Arambepola, The State Minister of Education Wijitha Berugoda, some other state ministers, The Secretary of Education Professor Kapila Perera, several education officers and a number of district coordinating committee members had joined in this national coordinating committee which is being implemented with the chairpersonship of The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris. 

The sub-committee of national coordinating social infrastructure facilities is consisted of the ministry of education, ministry of labour, the ministry of trade, the ministry of transport, the ministry of mass media, the state ministry of Dhamma schools, Pirivenas and education of priests, the state ministry of education reforms, open universities and the promotion of distance education, the state ministry of child and women’s development, preschools and primary education, school infrastructure and education services, the state ministry of skills development, vocational education research and new inventions, the state ministry of primary health services, pandemic diseases and covid disease controlling affairs, the state ministry of indigenous medicine promotion, rural and Ayurvedic hospitals development and community health, the state ministry of supply and supervision of medicine productions, the state ministry of cooperative services sales development and consumer protection, the state ministry of railway compartments and automobile industry and the state ministry of national heritage, performing arts and rural arts and crafts development. 

The following activities are the main functions of this sub-committee. Supervision, direction and review of the programs related to the implementation of 2021 budget proposals, inquire about the other developmental activities related to the provision of common services covering the subject area of the sub-committee, discussion of issues and providing solutions that must be at the ministry levels and the proposals submitted from district coordinating committees and through the program of a dialogue with the village.  

A number of proposals for the development of the quality of education sector of this country and several alternative ideas were also put forward at this meeting and a long discussion was held about the mission of the system of education in the social infrastructure development at divisional secretariat level as mentioned in the policy declaration of HE the President ‘The vision for prosperity’.
