The secretary of education Professor Kapila Perera emphasizes that some information have been received that in some schools various functions are held and do relevant organizational work disregarding the prevailing unsafe and risky situation due to the current covid 19 pandemic. And also it is a time that entire school community must work with great responsibility and concern about their health protection, he said.
Accordingly, the secretary of education has issued an instruction letter to all provincial, zonal and divisional education authorities and the heads of Pirivenas and the principals directing them to stop holding all functions in the schools until further notice.
According to that, the secretary of education has further emphasized through that letter to take necessary actions to stop until further notice all the arrangements those are being done for conducting functions in any school or the functions planned to be held in the future.
