Measures to start only grade 11 of the schools in the western province except the locked down areas
All the other schools are opened on 11th January for 2 – 13 grades
All the schools except in the western province and the locked down areas are opened for the grades 2 to 13 from 11th of January. The steps will be taken to open the schools in the western province only for the grade 11 from 25th of January except the schools in locked down areas.
The secretary of education Professor Kapila Perera emphasizes that it is a challenging task to open the schools for children in instructions to supervise at the provincial, zonal and divisional levels about the ways of implementing these guidelines by the principals taking the assistance from the parents and the school health promotion committees on the days 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in the schools scheduled to be opened on 11th of January.the face of spreading the covid virus and all the sections including the principals, teachers, students, parents and the members of the school health promotion committees must work with full responsibility to ensure the health protection before the opening of schools according to the instructions and guidelines prepared by the ministry of education under the complete supervision and the guidelines of the health authorities and also to maintain the proper health protection methods after the opening of the schools.
