It was possible to conduct the grade five scholarship examination today (11) without any issue, said The Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris and he requested to send the children to the examination centers tomorrow for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination also and the government has provided all health, defense and transport facilities for this purpose. The minister expressed these ideas after coming to D.S. Senanayaka College, Colombo to inspect the places where the exam was held.
Further expressing his views the minister said,
First of all we express our thanks to the parents for trusting the government and sending their children to the exam. The grade five scholarship exam was successfully completed throughout the country without any issue. The parents spoke to us and extended their thanks to the government. We are happy about it.
The parents requested from the government not to postpone the exam again which had postponed twice. The government responding to that demand, worked collectively with the support of all sections health, defense, transport, education ministry and local government institutions and was able to overcome that challenge.
All the arrangements have been made to conduct the advanced level exam also from tomorrow 12.10.2020 till 06th of November. Therefore, send the children to the examination without having any doubt. And also we extend our thanks to the minister of health, all health sections, the secretary of the ministry of education and all the staff, all local government bodies, the commissioner general of examinations and his staff and all the sections of the defense for their contribution and dedication provided, said the minister.
A group of people including the Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha and the Media Secretary of the Minister of Education Mr. Buddhika Wikramadara joined in this occasion.
