The teaching appointments given for filling the vacancies in Pirivenas during the 2019 presidential election period had been stopped on the orders of the Ministry of Finance. Although the teaching proposals for Pirivena teacher vacancies had been approved at the 184th meeting of the Pirivena Education Board, those appointments couldn’t be given under the orders of the Ministry of Finance.
The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Dallas Alahapperuma, identifying the filling the teacher vacancies in Pirivenas as a contemporary need for the improvement of Pirivena education in this country, had a discussion with the Hon. President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. As a result of it, the authorities of the Ministry of finance were instructed to approve the teacher proposal immediately to give relevant appointments.
