The Ministry of Education has collaborated with Dialog Asiata Company to provide the opportunity for children to receive education from their school teachers free of charge using any phone with or without internet facilities while staying at home.
Accordingly, the school teachers will have the opportunity to teach connecting students up to 45 at a time using the telephone number 1377 of the ministry of education.
The computer software necessary for this program has been provided by the Dialog Asiata Company. At the initial stage this program is scheduled to be implemented in 100 schools selected from nine provinces of the island.
Inaugural occasion of this program was held at the ministry of education yesterday (28) under the leadership of The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Dallas Alahapperuma. For this occasion officials of the ministry and the Dialog Company including the Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Asiata Company Mr. Supun Weerasingha had joined.
