“The protest campaign staged for sabotaging the education of children by power seeking trade unions is condemned; They have nothing but the greed for power” – The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam

libThe effort made by some people to darken the future of school children such as the innocent patients were victimized by trade unions in order to achieve narrow political gains of power seeking politicians is thoroughly condemned and any professional who love the country will not join in this so-called protests, said The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

The minister also pointed out that the people must take steps to raise their protest against this injustice because their children are subjected to be victimized from these activities. He also mentioned that even under the recent unhealthy risk conditions having extreme hot weather, spreading of Dengue menace and spreading of virus fever, steps were taken to avoid the breakdown of children’s education through the implementation of suitable alternative programs.

The minister emphasized that all these measures were taken since the government considered it is the responsibility of the state to safeguard the children’s right to education.

The minister reminded that the groups who ruled the country unjustly earlier and have lost the state power took the steps to start the private universities like SAITM without any proper monitoring during their regime but the present government works dedicatedly not to put the students studying in those universities into any turmoil. It also works to remove the difficulties of the people generated by the irregular activities done by the previous government. Some groups with greed for power are creating so-called protest campaigns and misleading the people only for regaining the lost power but it is unsuccessful. The majority of people of this country have come forward to defeat those groups and to take the country towards development, the minister further mentioned.
