“The knowledge acquired by children cannot be ruined by any disaster or person” – The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardana

The minister stated this idea at the function held for providing computers and internet facilities worth of 21 million rupees for the purpose of expanding the educational facilities of the children residing in all child development centers in Sri Lanka. This was held at the “Isurupaya” ministry of education premises on 15.09.2021 with the patronage of The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardana under the full guidance of The State Minister of Women and Child Development, Preschools, Primary Education, School Infrastructure and Education Services Piyal Nishantha. At this occasion, the computers were donated for 10632 children in 379 child development centers. 

Addressing the gathering at this occasion The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardana said…

“I express my thanks to the State Minister Piyal Nishantha for launching this process implemented for the benefit of the children in child development centers spread island wide targeting the world children’s day this time.

Implementing this program mechanism is an important process by taking the contribution of business community for developing the education of children in a period of time that seeks new ways and means for education based of the information technology. It is a guidance for children to approach into a new creative process.

Children are the happiness of a country. They are the happiness of parents. This can be identified as another special project implemented for the happiness and education of the children. The only thing that is not shaken in face of disasters happening in a country is knowledge. The knowledge acquired by children cannot be ruined by any disaster or a person. Therefore, the ministry of education is dedicated to improve the knowledge of children. It is also a special program present in the vision of prosperity of Hon. President.

The challenges confronted by the children in these centers are more than that of the children in normal school. This program launched for facilitating the children to go along the new world and understanding the new directions of it within a period of changing the world along the path of technology is an excellent endeavor. 

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Development Coordination and Supervision and The State Minister of Digital Technology and Entrepreneurship Development Namal Rajapaksa, The State Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha, The State Minister of Education Piyal Nishantha also addressed the meeting. The Member of Parliament Attorney at Law Sagara Kariyawasam, the Secretary of the ministry of education Professor Kapila Perera and the Secretary of the State Ministry Kumari Jayasekara also participated in this occasion.
