Mr. S.A.N. Perera serves as the Additional Secretary of Pirivena Education Development within the Pirivena Division, bringing over three decades of dedicated service to the education sector. His primary responsibility is to supply necessary resources to uplift the buddhist education of pirivena education institutions in Sri Lanka with the overarching goal of developing pirivena education across the country.

His extensive career includes significant leadership roles as Principal of Koslanda National School, Nittabuwa Sangabodhi central college, Horana Taxila Central College, and Moratu Vidyalaya, demonstrating his profound impact on various educational institutions.

Outside of his demanding role, he enjoys reading, watching online films, and also studying Sri Lankan and world history, reflecting a well-rounded and inquisitive character.

A science graduate from the University of Colombo, Mr. Perera specialized in applied mathematics, pure mathematics, and statistics in 1990. He continues to pursue academic excellence, currently reading for a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and a Master of Teacher Librarianship, both at the University of Colombo. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the same institution.

Mr. Perera’s diverse professional journey began as a school teacher, followed by a role as a planning officer at the Urban Development Authority. Since 1993, he has been a distinguished officer of the Sri Lanka Education Administration Service, serving in various capacities across the island.
