Scholarship results are out Bursaries for 20,000 scholarship holders this time …

The results of the grade five scholarship examination held on 11.10.2020 was released yesterday (15) by the Department of Examinations and this time 20,000 scholarship holders have qualified to receive bursaries. This includes 250 students with special needs. This time 331,741 students had applied for the scholarship exam and 326,264 out of it sat for the exam. The examination was held in 2936 exam centers using 496 coordinating centers and in some areas the exam had to be conducted under the quarantine curfew in the face of the second wave of covid. At the time of holding the examination, three students undergoing the quarantine, two students infected with covid and three students admitted in the Apeksha hospital also sat for the examination. The task force for covid, health sectors, police department and other defense divisions, all transport sections, disaster management center, election commissioner’s department and severalother institutions provided their full cooperation to the ministry of education and the department of examination to conduct the exam and for evaluation activities. Accordingly, the evaluation activities of this exam were performed in 390 evaluation boards by 4680 examiners within 08 days. There are 10 students who scored 100% results in the scholarship exam this time. The opportunity has been given to all provincial directors ofeducation, zonal directors of education and the principals to download and get the result sheets printed entering the www.doenets.lk  official web site of the department of examinations using the given reference names and the passwords or entering directly to the web site www.results.exams.gov.lk .The department of examinations and the ministry of education express their sincere thanks to all the children who sat for the exam facing bravely all the challenges within the prevailing environment in the country, all sections supported to conduct the exam including the health and defense sectors and all media institutions that gave full cooperation to sensitize the people. The list of names of the students who obtained 200 marks acquiring 100% results of the scholarship exam this time is given below.
