Restructuring of education is from pre-school…Gifted children are selected since grade 09 and directed to vocational education…

– Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha

Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha says that the entire education must be restructured and that complete change must be started from pre-school. The system of education must be changed dividing one segment of children for sending to the field of higher education and another segment with talents and skills towards the vocational education.

The minister mentioned that when the children are divided into these two segments, the children showing vocational skills must be selected from grade 09 and they must be directed to vocational education sector and fruitful results can be achieved from that. The minister expressed this when he addressed a meeting held at the premises of the state ministry of skills development, vocational education research and new inventions on 31st of May.

This meeting was held with the participation of the Secretary of the ministry of education Mr. Nihal Ranasingha, the officers of the state ministry of skills development, vocational education research and new inventions and the heads of vocational training institutions coming under that ministry.
