It is a false news item currently spreading over the social media saying that the vacation after the first term of the government schools starts tomorrow (07.04.2021).

According to the circular ‘school terms 2021’ (No. 36/2020) it has been scheduled to start the vacation after the first term in all government schools (Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim) on 09.04.2021.

Furthermore, according to the same circular all Sinhala and Tamil schools are started on 19.04.2021 for the second term and the Muslim schools will start on 17.05.2021.
