The Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha expressed these ideas when he had a discussion today (24th of May 2022) at the university grants commission meeting with the officers of the ministry of higher education. This meeting was held regarding the expanding of higher education opportunities of this country through the memoranda of understanding created between the university grants commission and the foreign universities and also through new international relations. The discussion also dealt with the way how to implement the strategic plan of higher education without being an issue to the education of children within the present crisis situation.
At this occasion the minister appreciated the higher education system including the universities as a government service system continuously performed during the past two and half years among various disastrous problems. The chairperson of the university grants commission Professor Sampath Amarathunga, other members of the commission and the vice-chancellors of the universities had attended this meeting which was held with the leadership of minister of education.
