Along with the new educational reforms, the National Institute of Education has been organizing district-level awareness programs covering all provinces of the island, aimed at enlightening school principals of national and provincial schools.

Under this program, awareness programs have already been conducted in many districts, and as a continuing step, the awareness program for the principals of the Matale District was held today (2025.10.04) under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Buddha Sasana and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Gamagedara Dissanayake, at the Matale District Secretariat Auditorium.

The event was attended by the Matale District Secretary, the Director General of the National Institute of Education, provincial education directors, various educational authorities, and a group of approximately three hundred and fifty principals from the Matale District.

The objective of this program conducted under the guidance of the National Institute of Education is to build a comprehensive understanding among school principals regarding the goals and processes of the educational reforms.

Accordingly, it is planned to implement this program in other districts across the island in the future as well.
