Dr. Madhura Senevirathna is a dedicated public servant and medical professional serving as the Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education in Sri Lanka. Born in Nuwara Eliya on August 23, 1979, he represents the Nuwara Eliya District as a Member of Parliament. With an MBBS degree from the University of Peradeniya, Dr. Senevirathna has served in the healthcare sector as a trained anesthetist before transitioning into a political career.

He is a passionate advocate for social equity, education reform, and workers’ rights, serving as the Nuwara Eliya District Convener of the National Trade Union Center and a Committee Member of the Socialist Workers Union. His leadership extends into international cultural engagement as Vice President of both the Sri Lanka–China Friendship Wushu Association and the Sri Lanka Tai Chi Association. Additionally, he contributes to academic and intellectual development as the Nuwara Eliya District Organizer for the National Intellectuals Association.
