A broad academic discussion on the proposed new education reforms was held today (2025/10/28) at the Senate Hall of the University of Colombo under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

Officials of the Ministry of Education, Professor Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri, President of the Federation of University Teachers’ Associations, university academics including professors and senior lecturers, representatives of teachers’ unions, and civil society organizations were among the large number of intellectuals who participated in the event.
