A discussion was held between the committee members of student activists of inter-university colleges and the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Ministry of Education and the officials of the ministry had also attended in this occasion.
At this occasion those student activists presented their welfare and educational difficulties in front of the Prime Minister. The students receiving the national vocational technological training for two three years have to follow a course for three years after entering to the vocational technology university. The student activists submitted the details regarding to reduce that duration of time.
They also pointed out that along with the approval of national competencies some parts of the subjects have been deleted from the course of beauty-cultural science affecting to reduce the quality of that course. The prime Minister instantly asked the officers to find out the situation and to submit a report immediately on that matter.
The issues were also presented at this occasion related to the problem of lands of Anuradhapura University College and other University Colleges, the administrative problems in Ratmalana Technical College, the issues in acquiring land of Kuliyapitiya University College and the Prime Minister gave necessary instructions to the relevant officers to take necessary actions for these issues.
