Bring out an education reform that can develop the fields of fisheries and agriculture and create entrepreneurs with specialist knowledge in those fields.

The Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said that the main objective of education reforms is developing ethics within children and directing the dropout children from school education towards the vocational education as well as obtaining their contribution to the development of the country.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya had a special discussion with high-ranking Christian priests including His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith on 07th of August at the official residence of Cardinal in Colombo to make them aware of the new education reforms scheduled to be implemented from 2026.

The Prime Minister and the Secretary of the Ministry of Education Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewa presented a detailed explanation of education reforms at this occasion.

Because all the children do not get the opportunities to engage in higher level employments, while explaining the importance of the fields like agriculture, fisheries industry, electric technical field, vehicle repairing etc., a special attention was drawn about how the foundation of it is created within the school for creating the experts in those fields by the new reforms.

A lengthy discussion was held at this occasion about the importance of selecting subject experts when the teaching vacancies are fulfilled, regularization of that selecting process and the possible measures to be taken for providing quality education to the children.

The high-ranking Christian priests including the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Bishops Congress most reverend Harold Anthony participated in this occasion.
