The Secretary of the Ministry of Education Professor Kapila Perera says that ‘Isurupaya’ will be
reopened from tomorrow which was closed temporarily with the information received saying that
a Covid infected person was found.
On the information received yesterday (3) that an officer in the State Ministry of Education
Reforms which is situated within the premises of the Ministry of Education had been infected
with Covid, it was temporarily closed until making the premises suitable for the functions of
duties after completing the sanitization activities. Now all sanitization activities have been
finished on the instructions and the assistance of health officers.
Accordingly, the ministry of education has made all arrangements to activate the functions on the
basis of working from home and reporting to the duty on the calls received from the heads of the
sections that has been introduced by the government due to the prevailing situation in the
country.
Six associates of the identified Covid affected officer have already been directed to the
quarantine and the number of mingled people has been limited due to the fact that a minimum
number of officers had been remained in the working premises in the recent past. So far, all the
branches within the Isurupaya premises have been sanitized and the necessary background has
been prepared for the continuation of all the duties from tomorrow, said Dr. Jayampathi
Amarasekara Medical Officer of Health, Battaramulla who attended to these activities.
